4.10 BOTOX GIRLS, TIGRE AND BEST PIZZA IN TOWN

On Saturday we decided to go to Tigre, which is about 1- 1,5 hour train drive from the city. This is the weekend destination for many Portenos (this is the name for people born in the city). The whole fun there is about getting on a boat and cruising among the delta. There are these small cute houses on the way, each of them has a separate access to the river, there are even Gas stations for the boats on the way, local swimming ‘store’ etc. Look at the photos and you know what I mean.
Our extra fun during the day was spotting the ‘botox girls’ or rather ladies in their 60ties , who try to look like 30ties. So both of us, from time to time was like: Do U think she had her lips/ eyes/ boobs etc done? Believe me, sometimes, or more then often this can not work, no matter how good doctors they have here, you will see the ‘new age’ is fake. Simple as that. Interesting fact about Argentina is that, they have one of the highest rates of plastic surgery in the world, and not only women have them done. Wanna have the tummy of Schwarzeneger? Some local politicians do, and nothing stops them from having ‘the job’ done. I’m not judging, but so often these people look just ‘too perfect’ to be real. Would you want to be one? Me not. We talked (1/5 Spanish, 2/5 body language, 2/5 English) about this at school. Let me give you just one example that tells a lot about the desire to look better; in on of the disco places they had this competition where every weekend, one the girls was winning boobs job for which the Club owner paid. Last week there was a big article about it in national newspaper, where it was clearly considered illegal to offer.
Anyway, people in BA are one of the nicest and they make me feel good in this city. This is what counts.
On the way back we got this pizza place, full of locals, which later appeared to be one of the best in town, if you’re ever here try it. I’ll publish the details when I dig them back in my crazy notes.

1.10 DOG’S HEAVEN

I’ve heard about the ‘dog walkers’ here, but hearing and seeing them is something completely different. You walk down one of the big avenues here and suddenly you spot this guy or a girl with 8-12 different dogs, all walking down slowly, distinctly with this doggy ‘smile’. They go to the park, are taken off the leash, and keep having fun..
Well what can I say, I believe dogs here meet their dog’s friends more often then their owners do with their close ones. This must be dogs heaven

30.09 ARE U A VEGETARIAN?

It has been more then a month now, since I left London and started living, and you know what, I do enjoy it a lot.
There is life out there, if any of you still doubt it.
It took me a while to set up my little blog…I thought I will be updating it every now and then, and honestly I only called my parents a week after getting here to Buenos Aires .. there has been so much going on. I got completely lost in time. I absolutely adore the city, it is an amazing place to live or just visit. I know you envy me already , if you keep reading you’d probably start hating me for being here and experiencing all the greatest things (apart from argentinian meat) every day. Well, I do enjoy… you can join, if you want to.
I knew it will be fun, since I met this girl Petra in Sao Paulo. We were both waiting for the plane to Buenos, discussing our travels so far etc. When I was writing down my email address for her, Petra asked suddenly ‘Are U vegetarian?’. My face must have looked very odd, I had hundreds of thoughts: ’how does she know from my hand writing I’m a vegetarian?’, ‘I had no idea you can do that’, for a second I did believe you can. Then the picture became clear, when she told me stewardess on a plane told her she is eating someone elses’ food, and the name with the tick looked like mine. So here is the secret. From day 3 , we start hanging out together and exploring the city.
Keep checking…more to come…
